Program Application

Requirements:

  • Postdoctoral trainees must have received, as of the beginning date of the appointment, a Ph.D. in a field relevant to human health or health care, or a comparable doctoral degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution.

    • Comparable doctoral degrees include a D.N.P., D.P.T., O.T.D., Psy.D., Pharm.D., D.O., and MD-equivalent degrees. The MBBS or MBChB degrees, are considered a comparable doctoral degree if a trainee’s degree has been certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

    • For health professional applicants, prior experience in research is preferred and an NPI number (if applicable to the discipline) will be required at the time of application.

  • Trainees must be individuals who are committed to a research career and who plan to remain in training for no less than two years.

  • Applicants must be a citizen or a noncitizen national of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time of appointment.

As part of the application, candidates will be required to provide the following materials:

  • Statement summarizing your research interests. Applicants must identify at least one possible primary mentor (1 page).  
  • Statement describing your interest in the program, and how it aligns with your research experience and career goals (1-2 pages).
  • Statement describing an instance where you demonstrated commitment to health equity (1 page). 
  • Applicant NIH Biosketch (max 5 pages)
  • Unofficial transcript (graduate level)
  • Two letters of recommendation (will be solicited after application submission)
